Fly-fishing Clinic: As Stonecutters is a trout lodge offering 2 dams and three kilometres of river fishing, many of our guests choose a fly-fishing clinic. Under the tuition of a local guide you will be taught casting techniques and some of the basic science of the fascinating world of fly-fishing. Photo-Chase: A Fun team event for a group while exploring the venue………guests are divided into teams. Each team is issued with:-
A digital camera, a copy of the Photo-Chase guide book, A site plan of the property to assist in route planning. The guide books contain photographs taken around the property: each with a cryptic clue in the form of a four line poem. Working against the clock the teams must then proceed to take photographs identical to those in their respective guide books. Their routes will take them around the lodge property, meandering through scenic river, forest and hill locations. The team that takes the most photos in the quickest time wins the ‘Shutter Speed’ Award. Other awards will be for ‘The Funniest photo’ ‘Technically the Best’, etc. Each team hands in their camera and the shots are judged by Stonecutters staff. During the evening prizes are awarded: this will be a fun event! R300.00 per guest.
Clay-Pigeon Shooting: This popular event is held at Field and Stream and under the supervision of an expert, guests shoot competitively at flying ‘clays’. Price: R325 per person for 25 shots. Book: 082 781 0242

Lydenburg Mountain Biking, Hiking, Walking, Bird Watching: Route Map
The Gustav-Klingbiel Nature reserve just 15 minutes away and offers a number of mountain biking trails with varying degrees of difficulty and length- from riders just learning the skill to those that wanting a technically difficult outride. Children can use the easier, shorter routes.
Hiking, walking, birdwatching can be enjoyed on the reserve. Wild animals such as antelope, wildebeest, zebra and others have right of way!
Bird of Prey Display: This renowned raptor display is entertaining and informative, this stunning show can be be seen twice (10h30 & 14h30) every day at the Bird of Prey centre just outside Dullstroom Village. Price: R40p/p. 072 378 8562
Horse & Pony Riding: Just 20 kilometres from the lodge, outrides on up to 10 well-schooled horses in a beautiful mountain setting. Price R140p/p p/hour. Book 082 442 9766
I-Create: Get crafty at this Dullstroom centre with mosaics, painting, sand art or fabric painting. On-site tuition open at the weekend
Spa and Wellness: There are a few Spa Clinics in/near Dullstroom which offer rejuvenating treatments for utter relaxation. Vygenhoek offers organic treatments in a stunning setting. Book the Stonecutters Pamper Package.
Golf: The Ernie Els designed course at Highland Gate has opened the first 9 holes to the public. Price: R200 per day per golfer. Lydenburg Golf Course offer 9 holes off 2 sets of tees (18 holes) Price: R125 for 9 holes and R140 for 18 holes for a non-affliated member.
Bergen Cheese Factory. Book a cheese factory tour (10h00 on Saturdays) where you can see the whole process from milking to final product. The restaurant (in the historical old trading post in Tonteldoos) serves ploughman's platters and estate wine. 013 254 0074
